Lime Connect Pathways Scholarship for High School Seniors, Lime Connect is a not-for-profit network of high potential students, professionals, and veterans who live with visible or invisible disabilities. The organization aims at rebranding disabilities through achievements. The organization attracts, prepares, and connects high potential individuals living with disabilities to rare career and growth opportunities to achieve this aim.

An Overview of the Lime Connect Pathways Scholarship for High School Seniors

This scholarship is targeted at high school seniors living with disabilities and who are committed to impacting their future. The program, which kicked off in 2019, is currently focused on high school seniors looking to take up undergraduate study in 4-year higher education institutions in either the United States or Canada.

This program is principally merit-based. However, financial needs may also play a role in getting a candidate considered. Each recipient of the scholarship receives $1000 to support their higher education.

Who Is Eligible to Apply for the Lime Connect Pathways Scholarship for High School Seniors?

The details of the eligibility criteria for this program may change from year to year. However, the following points are pretty standard:

  • Every applicant should be someone who is living with or considers themselves to be living with a visible or invisible disability. 
  • Every applicant should be a high school senior in the US or Canada hoping to graduate in the next summer or spring.
  • Every applicant should have applied for a 4-year undergraduate course of study that has been accepted or waiting to be accepted for the program. The application should be to an institution of higher learning in the US or Canada and should be for the following academic year.
  • Every applicant should intend to have been admitted into their four-year degree program by the next Fall.

NOTE: Lime Connect defines an individual living with disability as “someone who considers themselves to have, a very long-term, or recurring, issue that impacts one or more major activities that others may consider to be a daily function.” In addition, a perception among other people that a disability exists is also one of the defining factors.

 Lime Connect equally acknowledges that 9 in every 10 disabilities on campus are invisible. So, anyone living with a disability – whether visible or invisible – is encouraged to apply for the scholarship program.

So, How Do You Apply for the Lime Connect Pathways Scholarship for High School Seniors?

Take the following steps to apply for the program:

Step 1: Sign up as a Lime Network member here. If you have already signed up, you can sign in. 

Step 2: On your Lime Network dashboard, locate the online application system. 

Step 3: Supply the required details and documents. This may include a CV and resume, general background information, an essay on living successfully with a disability, etc. 

Note: This stage of the application does not require reference letters. Applicants will only be required to submit reference letters/information after they have been selected as finalists.

Applicants who have been selected for the program will be expected to verify university or college acceptance before they can receive the award. Any recipient found not to be attending a four-year university or college by the next Fall would be withdrawn from the program, and they would have to return the award.
